Awards Won: Hollywood Film Festival - Breakthrough Female Performance
Southern Accent, Russian/Czech Accent, Certified Scuba Diver, Yoga, Tennis, Krav Maga, Dancing, Singing, Jewelry Designer, Animal Rights Activist & Rescuer, Philanthropist
Shannon Elizabeth (Fadal) was born in Houston, Texas on September 7th. Her father, Gerald Edward Fadal is of Syrian/Lebanese descent and her mother, Patricia Diane Fadal, is English, Irish and German. Shannon’s an only child and she and her family moved to Waco, Texas when she was in third grade. While is her senior year of high school, she got the chance to be in a local music video for the hit single "Just Can't Handle It" by Hi-Five. The video was produced by Propaganda Films/Robert Goodman, and the director just happened to be Antoine Fuqua. Right after graduating high school Shannon moved to New York to pursue a modeling opportunity that seemed to fall in her lap. Although never having a desire to model, she decided to try it in hopes that it could lead her into the career of acting she had always dreamed about.
After years of modeling, Shannon eventually landed in Los Angeles to start her acting career. One of her first jobs was shooting an episode of Arli$$ on HBO alongside Robert Wuhl. It was a few years later though that Shannon landed the role of Nadia in American Pie, which garnered her a nomination for Breakthrough Female Performance at the 2000 MTV Movie Awards. Shannon subsequently starred in Scary Movie which broke many records at the box office & beyond…(at the time it was the biggest opening for an “R” rated comedy in history, the biggest opening for a non-sequel in comedy history, the highest grossing film directed by an African American in history, the biggest opening for Miramax in history and the highest grossing film in Miramax history!) Then, in 2001 Shannon won the Breakthrough Actress Award at the Hollywood Film Festival. She has since starred in over 25 films and TV shows and worked with many directors whom she greatly admires, including Kevin Smith, Richard Curtis, Penelope Spheeris and Wes Craven. Shannon’s current dreams and ventures in addition to acting include her passion for directing, writing and producing. She directed a music video last year for the artists Tha Vill and Kele Le Roc, for their hit single "More Than Friends". She is also slated to direct her first feature film soon, and what has become a huge passion project for Shannon, called "Fated". She loves the creative process and finds few things more fulfilling than directing and editing her own projects-needless to say, Shannon greatly aspires to soon follow in Kathryn Bigelow’s footsteps!
In Shannon's spare time she is a huge animal activist. Formerly an active part of the animal rescue community, she is now moving into animal rights-hoping to help alleviate many animal cruelty issues & end them for good. She is working closely with Last Chance for Animals and founder Chris DeRose on many of their current projects.
Shannon also recently launched a new fragrance and jewelry line with her cousin, Tamsen Fadal. The line is called Shansen Jewelry and her fragrance is called "S" by Shannon Elizabeth, available exclusively at www.ShansenJewelry.com. The thought behind the jewelry line was to create pieces using healing gemstones and crystals, as well as symbols that all hold high vibrational benefits and deep rooted meanings to actually enhance the life of the wearer. A portion of every jewelry piece and perfume sold will ALWAYS go to charity!
